The U14 netball squad had a fantastic afternoon at the North Shropshire B team tournament. The team won all three of the group stage matches; 8 – 1 against Thomas Adams School, 7 – 2 against Adcote and 13 – 0 against St Martins. Kiri and Tallulah worked tirelessly to get free and shot with great accuracy, in mid court Lilly, Patricia, Candela, Hannah and Bella moved the ball quickly from defence into attack, and Gwen was brilliant as Goal Keeper throughout despite it not being her preferred position. The role of Goal Defence was ably filled by Candela, Patricia, Hannah and Bella as needed. These fantastic results meant that we topped our group and went on to play Oswestry, the hosts, in the semi-final. The girls quicky got into their stride in the match and were convincing winners at 9 – 1. We then faced Corbet’s in the final. It was closely contested and there was only one goal difference for most of the match. Corbet’s eventually got a small lead which saw them win 8 – 4. The girls can be really proud not only of how they played but also how they conducted themselves and supported each other.
